Final Four

Another season has come and gone. Five teams have been eliminated. Four teams remain. Both of our playoff games this season are first time ever postseason match-ups and both games feature impressive teams that have put on dominating performances. Below are the previews to both games.

#1 Ben vs #4 Jeff

For the first time ever, Ben will play Jeff in a postseason game. Season 1 and Season 6's champion will face Season 5 and Season 9's champion. Both are seeking to become the league's first ever three-time champion. But, to even get to the championship game, one of them will have to defeat the other. Let's take a look back through the last 4.5 years at some of the regular season Ben vs Jeff games:

Ben:41.5 beat Jeff:35 (Season 1, Week 4)

Jeff:38 beat Ben:29 (Season 2, Week 3)

Jeff:28 beat Ben:16 (Season 2, Week 10)

Ben:51 beat Jeff:20 (Season 3, Week 2)

Ben:20 beat Jeff:17 (Season 3, Week 11)

Ben:29 beat Jeff:12 (Season 4, Week 6)

Jeff:39 beat Ben:4 (Season 5, Week 7)

Ben:45 beat Jeff:22 (Season 6, Week 4)

Ben:39 beat Jeff:26 (Season 6, Week 9)

In Season 7, they played in the same division with Ben finishing 2nd and Jeff finishing 5th. After no interaction in Season 8, they played in the same division again in Season 9. Jeff only managed to get half a win more than Ben but ended up claiming first place and the championship due to his performance in the pay-per-views. In Season 10, both narrowly missed the playoffs.

This will be Jeff's 4th overall playoff appearance, having won 2 of his 3 previous playoff games, and his first since Season 9. This will be Ben's 8th overall playoff appearance, having won 3 of his 7 previous playoff games.

Jeff enters the playoffs as the biggest underdog and as the only Cagle Corporation member left standing against the entire Fetner Foundation. All the odds are stacked against him but Jeff remains confident. When asked about this match, Jeff had this to say...

"I'm JEFF MAY, the styling, profiling, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheeling and dealing son of a gun! Ben, in order to be the man, you have to beat the man!"

Ben enters the playoffs as the number 1 ranked team for the second consecutive season and as the biggest favorite in the playoffs for the second consecutive season. However, that didn't work out in his favor last season when 11-point underdog, 4th ranked Terry beat him. But, that didn't seem to bother Ben, who had this to say about numbers...

"You know they say that all men are created equal, but you look at me and you look at Jeff and you can see that statement is not true. See, normally if you go one on one with another person, you have a 50/50 chance of winning. But, I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal! So, you got a 25% chance, AT BEST, at beating me. Then, when you add in the commissioner, Austin Boozer, to the mix, your chances of winning drastically go down. See, when you add a 3rd person who always does what's best for business, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I have a 66 2/3 chance of winning!

So, Jeff, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus the 25% chance and you have an 8 1/3 chance of winning. But, then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we were to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3%, I have have a 141 2/3% chance of winning the playoff. See, Jeff, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you next week."

In this collision of two time champions, which will prevail and advance for a chance to become the first ever three time champion? Ben is a 10-point favorite... will he succeed? Or will the #4 team score another upset?

#2 Jacob vs #3 Austin

Brother vs Brother for the first time ever in a postseason match. Austin, the reigning champion, seeks to defend his title and become the first ever three time champion in league history. Jacob, on his second season since returning from his hiatus, is fighting to win the championship for the first time. One brother on top of the world, the other trying to join the list of champions. It may be the first ever postseason match between the two, but it's certainly not the first time the two have faced each other...

Jacob:24 beat Austin:13 (Season 1, Week 1)

Austin:41 beat Jacob:16 (Season 2, Week 10)

Austin:24 beat Jacob:12 (Season 3, Week 4)

Jacob:34 beat Austin:20 (Season 4, Week 1)

Austin:26 beat Jacob:15 (Season 4, Week 8)

Jacob:40 beat Austin:16 (Season 5, Week 6)

In Season 6 and 7, they played in different divisions, then following that season, Jacob went on hiatus from fantasy wrestling. He left for the entirety of Seasons 8,9, and 10 before making his return in Season 11. During that time, Austin defeated Ben for the Season 8 championship, then made it to the playoffs the next two seasons.

Then, Jacob returned in Season 11 in what was a solid performance, finishing 5th and narrowly missing the playoffs. Austin, on the other hand, finished 3rd and went on to defeat Terry for his second championship.

This will be Jacob's 3rd overall playoff appearance, having won 1 of his 2 previous playoff games, and his first since Season 5. This will be Austin's 7th overall playoff appearance, having won 3 of his 6 previous playoff games.

One might expect a game between 2 of the Fetner Foundation's players to be a friendly competition, but comments from the two competitors seem to suggest otherwise. Austin had this to say about his opponent...

"He walked away and then I won the championship. He came back and I still won the championship. I may not have Fetner as my last name, but I AM the Fetner Foundation. And if you ask me, he's better off walking away than facing me."

Jacob hasn't been in playoffs for 7 seasons and despite facing the current champion and being the underdog, he seems confident...

"When I beat you next week, it's nothing personal. It's just what the rest of the Foundation thinks is best for business..."

Could there be a rivalry building within the Fetner Foundation? Can Jacob win his first championship? Will Austin continue to win on his way to a third championship? In this Brother vs Brother match, who will advance to the Season 12 championship? Will it be Austin as a 7-point favorite? Or will Jacob score the upset?
