Season 14 Updated Announcement

Season 14: Then, Now, Forever will begin on May 19th with the Money in the Bank pay-per-view and there are a lot of changes. The basic goal of the game−score more points than everyone else−is still the same but the format of the season, the scoring system, the live scoring, and more are all quite different. Please take the time to read and understand the things in this post so that there is no confusion once the season begins.

First, I want to go over the season structure. There will be no all-play scoring and no head to head games in the regular season. We are moving to a total points-based system where the standings will be determined solely by points. Each team will have 6 wrestlers, 4 starting and 2 on the bench. The season will last from Money in the Bank until Summerslam on August 11th. That means we’ll have ten weeks along with Money in the Bank, Stomping Grounds, and the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Week 11 and week 12 will be the playoff weeks.

Secondly, I want to announce the new rule for the postseason. Every team in the league automatically qualifies for the playoffs! The regular season rankings will determine whether you receive any bye weeks though. These changes were made to keep everyone in the running and let everyone have fun for the duration of the entire season while also rewarding the best teams. Here’s the current format:

  • Week 11: Teams ranked 4th and lower battle in a one-week, last chance, wildcard playoff. Only one team advances, so you really don’t want to end up stuck in this round.

  • Week 12: The winner of the last chance week moves on and plays against the teams that finished ranked 2nd and 3rd in a triple threat. This is effectively the semifinal round.

  • Summerslam: The winner of the semifinal faces off against the team that finished ranked 1st for the ACFW Championship.

Next, let’s talk about changes to the scoring system:

  • Appearance points are now only one point but can be earned more than one time per show.

  • Disqualification victory points have been lowered by half a point

  • Specialty win lowered from 2 points to 1

  • #1 contender match win lowered from 3 points to 1.5

  • # 1 contender match win (main title) lowered from 4 points to 3

  • Winning a championship match lowered from 3 to 2

  • Winning a main championship match is now 4

  • Added: Participating in a main event match (last match of the show) is now worth 1 point with an additional point if your wrestler wins that match decisively.

  • Added: Weapons are back! And worth half a point. There is a maximum allowed per show though.

  • Added: Tables are back! And still worth 1. Also, a maximum allowed per show.

  • Added: First appearance is worth 1. This is awarded to the first WRESTLER that appears on the show.

  • Several other rules have been updated or reworded in the Rules also. To try not to make this too long, please go to the Rules page on the website. Anything that has been altered is in bold.

The appearance rule, weapons, tables, main event, and first appearance updates were made to give more ways for wrestlers to score which should make the actual watching of the show much more fun for players. Disqualifications points were lowered to make them less significant since they are on the show. Specialty win was lowered to match main event points. The championship and number one contender changes were made to balance counting the women’s titles as main titles. Again, see the Rules page for full details on all changes.

Also, wrestling twice in one night no longer scores extra points. Winning extra matches, however, does earn extra victory points.

The finisher rule is being made simpler than ever. Whoever has the wrestler on their team chooses their finisher at the draft and can change it during the season. These changes can be cancelled by the commissioner if they are unfair/not actually a finishing move. As always, the move used to win is always a finisher no matter what.

Finally, I’d like to go over the new team captain rule and the new boost rules. For the first time ever, there is a way to affect your team’s score other than just starting the right people. One player on your team will be your team captain. This will be your first-round draft pick to start but can be changed at any time like any other roster change. Team captains score a bonus 50% points per week. Choose the right captain and pull ahead in the standings or pick the wrong captain and miss out on bonus points.

Also new to this season are one-time boosts. Each of these can be used on any of the ten weeks in the regular season (maximum one per week) and each can only be used once total. Use them at the right time for huge bonus points. They can make or break your season. Of course, they cannot be used at pay-per-views (since everyone already gets double points at those) or in playoff games. Here are the three boosts:

  • Double Captain Boost: When used, your team captain scores double points for the week instead of the usual 50% bonus

  • Bench Boost: When used, both bench players count as starters for the week

  • Teamwork: When used, all 4 of your starters get the 50% boost for the week, effectively increasing your total points by 50% for that week

We will use the same team for pay-per-views and weekly games, meaning that we will each have four active wrestlers at pay-per-views instead of three.

Keepers are still happening starting next season, the waiver wire is still gone (Roster lock is 15 minutes before any show and remain locked until noon Wednesday after Smackdown and/or noon Monday after a pay-per-view), all team changes sent in the group chat are effective immediately unless rosters are locked, there will still be prizes for random stuff throughout the season, lower ranked teams in Season 14 will have the best draft spots for Season 15, and the draft is May 18th at 2:00 with a $10 entry fee. Signups are at the draft, so I hope everyone is there!

We’ll have a WWE 2K19 tournament consisting of random matches and match types (three losses and you’re out) with the winner receiving a prize and we’ll have a Royal Rumble match on WWE 2K19 with a few people starting at random and others joining as they get eliminated. The winner of that will also win a prize.

The previous announcement on rules has been updated. The words I changed to red no longer matter. If anyone has any questions, feel free to text or call me! I’ll see you at the draft!
