The Golden Shovel: The Mountain of Ten Points

Another week, another chance to prove yourself, and Austin still couldn't score ten points. This week, we discuss the monumental task of actually scoring a reasonable amount of points in this game. And as always, people will be buried. Continue reading at your own risk.

First, Tess once again is sitting comfortably in first place and as a result, I cannot make fun of her team. Rules are rules. Boss says I can't break them or I'll get fired.

This week Ben scored a massive 48.5 points, climbing all the way up to second place in the standings. He potentially could be in first if he'd done better at literally any other part of the season so far. Congrats on the two nights of high points though.

And then there's Carl... who is 41 points behind Mr. Nine Point Five himself, Austin, in the standings. If the game was golf, he'd be dominating. There's always more weeks and more chances to climb in the rankings, of course, but my sources tell me that at least 20 points are needed for that.

Chris is still playing as the inferior version of Ben, Jeff is still scoring close to nothing from his team captain each week, Madelyn didn't start R-Truth (really smart decision there), and Jacob seems to be relying entirely on Kofi Kingston.

Finally, that brings me to the subject of the title of this week's edition of The Golden Shovel. His week 1 score was 9.5, his week 2 score was 9.5, and his trades are still backfiring. Wonderful gameplay from a once unstoppable champion. Let's all take a moment to applaud and admire the skill of the soon-to-be last place team in the standings... Austin. Last week I asked whether Carl or Austin would actually score ten points this week. Turns out only one of them did.

Rivalries are still running strong. Ben and Chris's rivalry seems to have been overshadowed by Madelyn and Chris's rivalry this week. That lead to one of the quotes of the week this week...

"Ben, I'm not sure if you were talking to yourself, talking to Ben, or talking to me."

-Ben

"Got a Stone Cold gif I wanna send but it's not PG rated, so I'll just cry instead."

-Austin

"Why am I being bullied by a child? And why is everyone just letting it happen?"

-Chris

For those teams that are not winning right now, just know there are eight more weeks and two more pay-per-views. Hope is not lost for anyone since everyone makes the playoffs. Anyone could end up as this season's champion. Hope is only lost if your team can't climb the Mountain of Ten Points.

This week had significantly less team changes than last week. For some teams, that seems to have worked. Others still can't climb the Mountain of Ten Points.

Week 3 is upcoming and we'll have many questions that get answered. Will Carl continue to score less than twenty? Will Ben take back his spot at the top of the standings? Will Madelyn and Chris's rivalry get even more heated? Will Austin finally reach the top of the Mountain of Ten Points?

Make sure to stop by next week where we will again make fun of everyone except the first place team. Until then, good luck to all!
