Azalea City Fantasy Wrestling is set to begin its next season on November 4th. Only three more weeks before we're back! This season is bringing many exciting changes to the way the game is played. Some of these are to make the game more fair for everyone, while others are simply to make things more entertaining.
The biggest change is a return to head-to-head scoring, a system we haven't used since Season 6. Instead of playing against everyone every single week, you will play against a single opponent. Whoever scores the most points gets a win and whoever doesn't gets a loss. Teams will be ranked based on their record with total points as the tiebreaker. Head-to-head games should provide plenty of entertainment, especially since it's possible to score the second most points out of everyone and get a loss because the one team you played against scored the most. But, just as you can get unlucky, you could also get lucky and score low but still win because of an easier opponent.
The season schedule will be handed out to everyone in person. In total, we'll have 14 regular games and 3 or 4 pay-per-views (depending on when the NXT Takeover event for January is scheduled). You will play against everyone twice each in regular games and have two off games where you don't play anyone.
At pay-per-views, you play against everyone. After the last pay-per-view of the season, you are awarded extra wins (or losses) based on your total points. Score the most points at pay-per-views and you'll get an extra 6-0 added to your record, score the second most and you get a 5-1, third most gets 4-2, and so on. At pay-per-views, you can only start 3 wrestlers instead of the full 5 for regular games.
For the postseason, the #1 team will automatically advance to the championship. The #2 team will face the #3 team on playoff week with the winner advancing to face #1 for the championship.
Didn't make the playoffs? No worries. You'll be put in our free for all match between #4, #5, #6, and #7. The winner can't make it to the championship but you do earn a good reward. The winner gets to choose their spot in the Season 16 draft.
Last thing for this announcement is that NXT is officially added as a scored show for this season since it is live now. The regular games will rotate between the three shows with you playing two of the three in any given game. For example, game one of the schedule is Raw + NXT, game two is Smackdown + Raw, and game three is NXT + Smackdown. Because of the rotation, you'll want to make sure you don't have more than three wrestlers from any show so that you'll always have enough to start your full five wrestler team for any game.
