Season 16 begins October 12th and brings several changes along with it. As for rules, we have these changes:
- Falls are now 1 point each, so each pin in a 2/3 falls match or ironman match now awardS points
- Attack points. You can now score points for attacking a wrestler outside of a match. Weapon attacks also are in the game now. It's 1 point per attack and weapon attack but can only be scored once per wrestler attacked.
- Championship wins have been increased from 2 to 3 points (and from 4 to 6 for main championships).
- Hardcore matches now award 1 extra point if they are won.
Waiver wire rules have been completely redone. Now, there is a waiver priority list. This list will begin as the reverse order of the draft order (so whoever has the last draft pick also has the first waiver priority). If you obtain a wrestler from the waivers, you drop to the bottom of the list. For more details on waiver and team change rules, please see the League page. For more details on the Season 16 rules, please see the Rules page.
The playoffs will be 2 vs 3 vs 4 with 1 having a bye to the championship. Playoffs this season will be 2 weeks long. This is identical to the postseason format of Season 13.
Team changes will be done through a forum which will be added to the website by draft day.
Finally, I'd like to introduce the new system for standings. It's simpler than all-play but not as luck based as head to head matches. In this new system, you will have head to head matches. If you win, you get a victory point. However, you also get a victory point if you are one of the top 4 scorers for that week. So, if you're the second highest scoring team but lose because you were paired against the highest scoring team, you'd still get 1 victory point. At pay-per-views, these points are also doubled. For more details, see the Rules page.
And that's it for today's updates. The season is only a month away now!
The schedule will be revealed at a later date but here are the week 1 matches:
- Austin vs Brandon (returning for his first season since Season 10)
- Madelyn vs Terry (returning for his first season since Season 13)
- Jacob vs Jeff (returning for his first season since Season 14)
- Ben vs Phillip (making his ACFW debut)
Season 16 is almost here and only one player will be the Last Man Standing!
